Unsightly, embarrassing veins
plague MANY people
Are you one of them???

Millions of women and men are bothered by spider veins – those small yet
unsightly clusters or sunbursts of red, blue or purple veins that most
commonly appear on the thighs, calves and ankles. In fact, it’s estimated
that at least half of the adult female population is plagued with this common
cosmetic problem. Although generally not a health risk alone, patients can be
symptomatic with itching, burning, or achiness. Many factors including
pregnancy, hereditary factors, trauma and hormonal changes contribute to the
formation of varicose and spider veins.

There are two treatments for spider veins,
Sclerotherapy
and Laser ablation. Most patients require a combination of both treatments for
the best result.

Dr. Schwartz uses an FDA-approved solution called
Sotradecol® for sclerotherapy. This agent is injected into the spider vein
through a microneedle, causing the vein to seal shut. Once the vein is sealed,
blood is forced into healthier veins. The treated vein is absorbed (like a
bruise) and eventually becomes nearly invisible or disappears altogether.
Sotradecol® gives much better results and is far less painful than the
traditional hypertonic saline injections.

The laser ablation of spider veins is accomplished using
the SkinPulse (S) Diode Laser System. This laser is superior to more commonly
used lasers. It produces a highly unique 940mm wavelength, which safely passes
through the skin and penetrates the targeted vessel. From the laser's heat,
blood is coagulated inside the vessel, causing it to collapse and seal.
